To be honest with you, I didn't know that Burt's Bees has a very wider range of products in the market. I always thought they only have lip balms and hand moisturizers so I was really surprised (and embarrassed) when I saw their other products which are, by the way, all natural!

Burt's Bees first ever product is their very famous lip balm and as what they say, that tiny tin can made an entire company. Oh, and did you know that Burt, that old man that you have probably seen on some of the brand's packaging, is a real man? And yes, he's still alive! Burt Shavitz, 79 years old, recently hailed as "the world's most famous retired beekeeper by the New York Times. Despite of Burt's Bees success and his fame, he still managed to keep his hippie and humble lifestyle.

Watch this trailer to know more about the amazing and bearded Mr. Burt Shavitz. :)

Last August 13, 2014, Burt's Bees celebrated their 30th anniversary and it was such a pleasure to be invited and be a part of that gathering with my fellow beauty bloggers and of course, the people behind Burt's Bees Philippines. I was actually almost an hour late because I had to go to school before attending the event so when I got there, Ms. Liz Lanuzo of Project Vanity was already starting the cool watercolor painting workshop.

It was super fun learning all about watercolor painting. I've never painted before but I enjoyed so much since I also have an artistic side. Too bad I wasn't able to capture some of Ms. Liz's works because I was too busy painting and following her. Hihi! We were given painting materials so we could also do what she's teaching us.

Super proud of my color wheel! Haha!

I thought those were just made up of different art materials thrown together but they were actually made up of some of the natural ingredients that Burt's Bees use on their product

That super yummy healthy dish! Salmon and pasta!

With Burt's Bees General Manager, Ms. Maritess Dagdag and my forever favorite seatmate, Ate Tina! :)

I will surely share to you soon some of Burt's Bees products that I am so excited to try like their Garden Tomato Toner and Orange Essence Facial Cleanser.

Happy 30th Birthday, Burt's Bees! Wishing you more years of success! :)

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission! :)

Product Review: Myra VitaGlow BB Cream

BB Creams everywhere! It seems like almost all of the skin care and cosmetic brands are already coming up with their own BB creams. Myra, a well-known skin care and health brand, also released one called the VitaGlow BB Cream. I was able to try out their BB cream when I got a gift from the company which even came with a customized brush set.

When I learned about Myra VitaGlow BB Cream, it reminded me of their tinted moisturizer. I'm not sure if they still have it though but I remember that it has a thick consistency, sheer coverage, dewy finish, and micro illuminating particles. I tried out the Myra VitaGlow BB Cream and it was almost the same as their tinted moisturizer. The only difference is that the BB cream has a thin consistency and the coverage is sheerer. They even have the same scent.

According to Myra:

Myra VitaGlow BB Cream is the perfect product for modern girls on the go who need to look gorgeous in a flash. This radiance-boosting tube is packed with multi-benefits for your skin that allow you to combine the prettifying power of skincare and makeup:

It’s moisturizing. This lightweight cream hydrates your skin to keep it soft and supple.

It contains Vitamin E. This helps nourish your skin even more, so your complexion appears younger-looking and healthy.

It doubles as foundation. The tinted formula comes in two shades: Ivory and Beige, to help you even out your skin tone perfectly and hide pigmentation.

It contains skin-enhancing minerals. Staying late at the office? Use this unique BB cream to add a natural, glowing finish to your skin! You’ll love how the subtle, light-reflecting shimmers in this cream will make you look like you’ve got a lit-from-within glow.

You can use it as concealer. Just pat an extra layer of Myra VitaGlow BB Cream to camouflage dark spots and blemishes.

It also has sunscreen. The SPF15 in this easy to bring tube will protect you from harmful UV rays that causes premature aging.

It’s hypoallergenic. Girls with sensitive skin don’t need to worry about breakouts, because this dermatologist-tested cream is proven safe for daily use.

It's the most affordable! There's no need to hesitate when it comes to purchasing this product, since you can score instant glowing skin for only P99 a tube. Such a great beauty steal!

Yes, I agree that it is moisturizing and I love that it has Vitamin E, skin-enhancing minerals, and sunscreen but can't agree that it can double as foundation and can be used as a concealer. The coverage is just not enough. In fact, it has little to no coverage at all.

Myra VitaGlow BB Cream has two shades, Ivory (lightest) which has yellow undertone and Beige (darkest) which has olive undertone.

The consistency of this BB Cream is actually like a moisturizer. When blended, the color disappears and it gets absorbed by the skin. So, for someone who has blemishes, acne marks, and other imperfections on the face, this won't help cover those up because it's too sheer. If you want extra hydration though and want a luminous skin, you can use this as a makeup base.

There's another downside to this product, by the way. It's not okay for people with oily skin. One day when I went to school, I used it as my makeup base then used a concealer to cover up my imperfections. I didn't use any cream or liquid foundation but I used a powder foundation to set everything and a translucent powder to keep oiliness at bay because I have oily-combination skin.

I didn't retouch the whole time I was out and I was gone for 5 hours and when I got back home, I checked myself in the mirror and I was surprised to see a very oily face.

My mascara also smudged under my eyes. So after that day, I decided not to use it as a makeup base anymore. I sometimes use it though to mix with my other foundations to neutralize the shade or if I want a luminous skin effect.

Based on the road test that I did, I bet you've already guessed. I'm not impressed with this BB Cream at all. I am actually frustrated because I love how the skin can benefit from it considering all its nutrients and Vitamin and sun protection. But hey! If you have normal to dry skin, maybe it might work on you.

Myra VitaGlow BB Cream costs P99.00 and is available in Watsons and all leading drugstore, grocery stores, and department stores nationwide.

Beauty Blossoms in Manila with PIXY!

On August 6, 2014, PIXY cosmetics was launched here in the Philippines. Pixy have already made its way to Japan, Indonesia, and Malaysia before they came here in our beautiful country. The launching of Pixy was held at White Space Manila with a very beautiful Cherry Blossoms theme!

What is PIXY?
PIXY is a Japanese-formulated and Indonesian-manufactured make-up line which flatters skin tones, while infusing the same light-reflecting, skin-perfecting properties, making Japanese cosmetics high in demand. It is developed by Japanese technology with natural ingredients from Japan with a quality standard which caters to the Asian skin.

Before the event started, the guests were given the chance to roam around first to take photos and explore the PIXY cosmetics.

Look at that! It's like you're really in Japan at a park under Cherry Blossoms trees! :)

Oh, hello there! :)

The event was hosted by TV personality, Ms. Patty Laurel-Filart. Yes! It's VJ Patty! She is so gorgeous, by the way.

Pixy is under Mandom Philippines Corporation, a member of the Mandom Group of Japan which imports and markets cosmetics and toiletries products.

"Mandom is excited to bring Pixy here to the Philippines because we believe our purpose is to contribute to the beautiful, healthy, and pleasant living. Filipinas have an innate happiness and natural beauty. Pixy allows women to enhance this beauty by offering quality products to highlight their Truly Asian Beauty," shares Hiroyuki Mitsuoka, President of Mandom Philippines.

Pixy designed 2 exclusive looks directly inspired by the biggest catwalk in the world: the city of Tokyo! The looks are called Tokyo Kawaii and Tokyo Glam which were taught by professional makeup artist, Ms. Xeng Zulueta who's been in the makeup industry for more than 12 years! I absolutely adore her! She was named by The Philippine Daily Inquirer as one of Manila's "creative movers and shakers" under the age of 30 and she is also one of the International Elite Artist in the world.

Here's Ms. Xeng doing the Tokyo glam look.

Too bad I wasn't able to take a closer photo of the two beautiful models after the makeup demo but I learned so much from Ms. Xeng. The products she used were all from Pixy and I can't wait to try this two looks using the newly launched cosmetic brand, too!

Thank you, PIXY Cosmetics and Mandom Corporation! I am so excited to try out these Kawaii cosmetics. I haven't tried any of them yet but I heard the two-way powders and mascara are great. Have you tried them already? :)

Event Show for a Cause: Handog Para Kay Juan at Juana

On the first day of August this year, we participated to an event show for a cause organized by Royal Myrh Talents and Entertainment Services which is owned and managed by Jessy Mendiola's family. I was invited by Mr. Sam Atun, partner of Royal Myrh, to be one of the official makeup artists along with my sister, Misty a.k.a. Queen B., and my good friend and fellow YouTube beauty guru, Joyce Sola.

I was able to meet new people and I actually had a nice chat with Meg Mendiola, the youngest sister of Jessy Mendiola. I also got to do their makeups except for Jessy because I believe she was really busy. She actually came in late and left as soon as her performance ended. I didn't even get to take a photo with her. :(

Anyway, we were assisted by my friend, Daisy and also by Ms. Josie who was a participant of my first Blend It! Makeup Workshop! :)

Here are Meg, Pam, and the talents of Royal Myrh that I glammed up:

I also groomed three male talents of Royal Myrh.

Of course, we stayed at the event to watch the show. Joyce, Daisy, and Ate Josie didn't finish it though but my sister and I decided to stay until it's over. Here are a few snapshots:

Sir Rex Kantatero and Pakito Jones of 93.9 iFM performing their epic parody songs! We actually enjoyed!

Jessy Mendiola performing her Maria Mercedes song :)

Before we left, we took a photo with Pam Mendiola and their Mom. :)

It was a tiring but great day, knowing that we were able to help Filipino children who are less fortunate. The proceeds of this event were donated to Payatas Elementary children and Kinilian Feeding Program. Thanks for having us, Royal Myrh! More power to you, guys. :)

Stay awesome and accomplish your mission!
